FAQS about SEALANT ADHESIVES

What is the difference between Elastoseal-PU 25 LM and Elastoseal-PU 50 FC?

Elastomeric sealants and adhesives are classified based on the hardness of the elastic mass after complete curing, as measured by the SHORE A scale, which typically ranges from 15 to 60. A lower hardness index indicates a softer sealant, while a higher index indicates a harder one. Softer elastomeric sealants, in the 15-30 range, are more suitable for sealing high-mobility joints, such as concrete expansion joints.

Harder sealants, in the 45-60 range, are more suitable for low-mobility joints (such as welds) and bonding applications. Sealants with intermediate hardness, in the 30-45 range, are versatile and suitable for both high-mobility joints and elastic welds. Sealants with a Shore A hardness index of 45-60, are typically used in bonding applications and usually cure faster than softer elastomers in the 15-30 range.
